Sub-Zero 700 TCI 3 refrigerator repair in St Augustine

The Sub-Zero 700TCI-3 refrigerator wasn’t cooling properly. It was trying to cool, but the freezer temperature wouldn’t come down to the proper 0F temperature.

During our initial inspection, we found that the freezer evaporator fan was stuck and couldn’t spin, so it wasn’t moving air through the freezer. We replaced that fan, but the refrigerator was still overheating. The center bar between the freezer and fresh-food sections was unusually hot to the touch, which pointed to another problem: poor airflow around the compressor.

On this model, the compressor fan sits behind the condenser coil and isn’t visible from the front. To inspect it, we had to pull out the machine compartment. We found that the fan had stopped working completely. We replaced it and cleaned the condenser coil. Both fans are now working, and the refrigerator is cooling properly.

If you have a bottom-mount Sub-Zero, especially if you have pets, check the condenser coil every six to twelve months and clean it when needed. Pet hair and dust can clog the coil, causing overheating and cooling problems and potentially damaging the compressor.

These GE front-load washers have a generous capacity and a blue door gasket treated with Microban antimicrobial technology. They’re nice machines, but an electrical repair can get expensive.

In our experience, when the drain pump fails on these models, it often takes out the main control board as well. Replacing the pump and board sometimes still doesn’t resolve the problem completely; the inverter may also need to be replaced before the motor runs properly.

That’s what we found with a repeat customer’s washer. It was a costly repair, but she liked the machine and chose to fix it. We replaced the affected parts, got it running again, and provided an extended warranty on parts and labor. We also reminded her to clean the drain pump filter periodically.
